    Question

If you do catalog your collections, how do you do it? We are starting to acquire so much that I wondered if it should be documented for insurance purposes. Do you purchase an additonal rider or just up the contents amount on your policy? Thanks.

Yes! Take pictures of everything, and it will be easier to prove value if you have to. Look at your renter's or homeowner's policy and see what value you have for your household possessions (aside from the house itself) and see if you need to purchase a rider of some kind. Most agents are very willing to answer questions about it!

I save a picture in a separate computer file of every AG thing we buy. I find that is a pretty easy and fun way to keep track. There are several websites like Curt's and Meg's which have retired AG items that you can save picture of if you want to try this method. You can just right click on the website and save it to your file. If you buy something on e-Bay, you can copy and paste the auction with the price or just the picture and name it with the price. Of course, you need to save a hard copy of what you put on your computer in case of fire, etc.
